What you'll be doing

Predominantly High Care based reaching out into Packing / Low Risk as and when required.  Monitor and support all waste process workstream controls and feedback to the team directly to drive positive results in addition to escalating through the leaders within the area (Line Co-ordinators/Zone Managers/Factory Managers) 

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 06:00am – 17:10pm Pay Rate: £14.48 per hour

Waste champion responsibilities are across three departments High Care, Low Care and Packing:

High Care

       Bag emptying & Cut offs*: Target 150g

       Giveaway management*: Target 0.8%

       Sauce spills*: Visual inspection

       Controlled stops* 

       End of run waste* 

       Excess spillage*: All components

       Capcold bag filling*: Target 8kg per bag

       First bags / End of drop waste*: Target 0

       Garnish usage*: Line weight checks

       Pack contamination*: Visual checks

       Scales*: Clear from debris and correct tares

       Waste bins*: Correct usage

       Tumbler mods*: Followed

Packing

       No finished goods on the floor* 

       Light weights re-check*: Follow average weight guidelines

       Manual handling*: Ensure presentation is not affected

       Waste bins*: Correct usage

Low Care

       Dairy/Cheese areas*: Flow meters & scale usage

       Tomato bags emptying*: Within target

       Yields*: Reference tracker

       Oven loading trays*: Follow recipe control sheets

       Waste bins*: Correct usage

       Pan bins*: Visually empty

What we’re looking for

*       Educated to GCSE or equivalent

*       Computer literate

*       Attention to detail

*       High level of accuracy with attention to detail

*       Team player

*       Comfortable working in a chilled environment

*       Reliable

*       Good Literacy and Numeracy skills (assessed at interview)

*       Good verbal communication skills

*       Previous experience of working within a similar role would be advantageous
