We are looking for a dedicated Occupational Health Advisor to join our Manton Wood team, covering two sites, both of which are on the Manton Wood Enterprise Park near Worksop (S80 2RS). Your Role as an Occupational Health Advisor

As a key part of our People at the Core strategy , you will support the health and wellbeing of our workforce by:

  • New Starter Health Screening – Conducting comprehensive medical assessments to ensure all colleagues meet statutory and company health standards.
  • Health Surveillance – Delivering legally required health checks (e.g., audiometry, spirometry, HAVS assessments, DSE assessments) in line with risk assessment legislation.
  • Absence Management & Rehabilitation – Supporting managers with sickness absence referrals, providing guidance on return-to-work plans, work adaptations, and redeployment.
  • Workplace Wellbeing & Education – Promoting proactive occupational health initiatives and advising on individual health concerns to enhance employee resilience and engagement.
  • Medical Confidentiality & Compliance – Ensuring the safekeeping of all confidential medical records, aligning with NMC guidelines, GDPR, and company standards.
  • Autonomy & Flexibility: This role requires some flexibility to support colleagues across multiple shift patterns in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. You'll proactively manage your own calendar, but will need to work night shifts or amended hours 1-2 times per month.

What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • NMC registration – Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), with successful revalidation every three years.
  • Occupational Health experience – Previous experience in occupational health (preferably in food manufacturing, logistics, or heavy industry).
  • Health Surveillance knowledge – Familiarity with workplace health surveillance, sickness absence case management, and fitness-for-work assessments.
  • Commitment to Professional Development – A desire to progress in public health and wellbeing, with an interest in the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) qualification.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to confidently work with HR, line managers, and health & safety teams to drive best practices in workplace health.
