Here in Consett, we have a team of around 280 colleagues. We produce a range of chilled ready meals for some of the UK’s leading retailers, including Co-op, Sainsbury’s, and Weight Watchers.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

We’re looking for an experienced, people-focused Learning and Development Coordinator to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working part-time (24 hours per week across three weekdays).

This is a site-based role, and we’re happy to offer flexibility on which weekdays you work.

 

In this role, you’ll:

  • Oversee and deliver all site-based learning and development activity, including compliance and audit training.
  • Line manage two Operational Trainers, driving performance, structure, and efficiency across their delivery.
  • Support a large, site-wide L&D audit and ensure all training documentation and systems are accurate, consistent, and up to date.
  • Ensure an engaging and compliant company induction programme is delivered to all new starters on their first day of employment
  • Monitor and report on L&D KPIs, ensuring alignment with site and Group targets.
  • Support ongoing improvements in training processes, including SOPs, training matrices, and compliance tracking.
  • Manage and make updates to the L&D budget plan in collaboration with site leadership.
  • Work closely with peers across Greencore’s L&D network

What we’re looking for

  •  Proven experience in a Learning and Development role within a manufacturing or similar commercial environment.
  • Confident line manager, with the ability to drive high performance and coach others.
  • Strong knowledge of training legislation and compliance
  • Proactive and fast-paced working style, able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable reviewing and refining training budgets and plans.
  • People-focused and relationship-led — a trusted presence on site.
  • Comfortable managing and improving existing L&D structures, trackers, SOPs, and tools.
  • Strong systems capability (Microsoft Office) and understanding of L&D metrics.
