Software Developer @Greencore
As part of their commitment to high quality in all aspects of operations, we are looking to grow our software development team with the addition of Software Developer.
The existing development team is currently small but is set to grow as we bring existing commitments in-house, take on the delivery of internal application development and support colleagues on their journey to getting the most from data and automation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Your role will be to craft high quality code while keeping in mind user journey design and experience. You’ll apply high coding standards to ensure everything we produce delivers on Greencore’s requirements
- The role will be entirely hands-on but will involve a degree of liaison with other teams within Greencore to provide testing, security and architectural frameworks
- You will also partake in some bug fixing and maintenance of our existing software estate. There will also be a level of user issue investigation, triaged and supported by our service desk teams
What you'll need:
We’re keen to bring someone into the team that reflects our culture of high standards in professional solution delivery. We’ve detailed below what this looks like to us but we’d encourage you to apply even if you don’t feel as though you tick every box, or if you bring additional skills. You will need demonstrable experience, either through portfolio or interview of the following:
Professional experience of working with JavaScript, Typescript and Node, and with front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular or similar
Experience or demonstrable understanding of API calls
Experience or demonstrable understanding of the importance of in-app user experience
Good understanding of CSS (bootstrap, tailwind or similar beneficial)
An awareness of C# and the .NET framework
An understanding of efficient database CRUD operations
Experience or awareness of development within an enterprise culture
A willingness to learn new approaches to resolving problems
Experience or demonstrable understanding of software testing benefits and approaches
Experience of collaborating with others, including day to day use of git repository
An awareness of new technology trends and an interest in exploring their benefits
