About Us:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and management of our data governance framework. In a newly created role, heading up a Master Data Management and Data Quality team, the ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the integrity and quality of our organisation's data assets. The Data Governance Manager will collaborate with various departments to promote data governance best practices, support data-related initiatives across the organisation and enhance the maturity of data governance across Greencore.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement a data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures, to ensure the effective management and utilisation of organizational data.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all systems and platforms. Guiding the definition of data quality rules, establish data quality monitoring and trending.
  • Collaborate with business units and IT teams to identify data governance requirements and priorities and align data governance initiatives with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders in the business to define and maintain data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles and responsibilities throughout the organisation.
  • Monitor and audit compliance with data governance policies and procedures, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance and retirement of centralised master data objects such as BOMs, customers, suppliers and pricing to support product trials, launches and changes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address data governance issues, resolve data-related conflicts, and facilitate data-related decision-making processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to data governance, and recommend adjustments to the data governance framework as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials to educate employees on data governance principles, policies, and procedures.

 
 
 
 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and standards, as well as data quality management concepts and techniques.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies, such as data cataloguing tools, master data management tools, and data quality tools (examples include Qlik, IBM, Informatica or similar tools/technologies)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data-related issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion.
